She has shared that her symptoms began around the age of 14, but she received a formal diagnosis in 2016 after years of painful cramps and heavy periods.

Natalie has described the journey using the words “hell, disgusting, and death.” The condition has affected her physical health, leading to weight fluctuations, as well as her emotional well‑being and personal relationships.

She has revealed that some romantic partners left after learning about her diagnosis.

In a radio interview with Homeboyz Radio presenter Lotan Salapei, Natalie became emotional as she spoke about the passing of fellow endometriosis advocate Njambi Koikai (Fyah Mummah).

Natalie admitted that Njambi’s death deepened her fears about her own health, leading to a raw and emotional admission.

“I feel like I could end up dead, and that’s why I live my life fully every day when I get the chance, because if there’s no cure eventually…,” Natalie said while wiping her tears.

Despite the fear and uncertainty, Natalie continues to advocate for awareness, early diagnosis, and better healthcare support for women living with endometriosis in Kenya.

She has also spoken honestly about anxiety, mental health struggles, and the emotional toll of living with a condition that has no cure.

Natalie Githinji is admired for her light‑hearted personality and a strong bond with her mother, who occasionally appears in her content.

Natalie remains active in the media industry while managing her health and using her platform to inspire others to face chronic illness, self‑doubt, and career challenges.
