Dr. Moses Njue, a former government pathologist is dead. According to reports, he died on Wednesday November 8 in Embu after a prolonged illness.
Dr. Njue was a highly respected pathologist and forensic medicine expert in Kenya. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Embu Level 5 Hospital before his retirement.
According to the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board roll, Dr Njue was registered with it in 1989 as a general pathologist.
The renowned pathologist graduated from the University of Nairobi in 1988 with a degree i medicine.
Later, he obtained a master’s degree in the medicinal field in 1995.

In recent years, Dr. Njue faced legal challenges related to allegations of organ harvesting. These allegations were serious and had the potential to damage his reputation.
Mixed legacy for pathologist
In 2018, Dr Njue was charged with stealing a heart from a corpse in Nairobi in 2015 at the Lee Funeral Home.
Despite the allegations, Dr. Njue maintained his innocence and went through the legal process. He was eventually acquitted of all charges due to a lack of evidence.
Additionally, Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo acquitted Njue and his son Lemuel Anasha Mureithi Njue of all accusations of stealing multiple body parts.
The magistrate said that the prosecution did not get any evidence of theft or removal of a heart from a dead body at Lee Funeral home in 2015.

“I find that the prosecution has not proved a prima facie case against the accused persons. I acquit them under section 210 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC). I order their cash bail deposited in court to be refunded,” Magistrate Kagendo said.
Njue’s passing marks the end of an era. However, his legacy is complex and multifaceted. He was both a respected medical professional and a controversial figure.
