Israel has suspended the licences of 37 humanitarian organisations working in the Gaza Strip, including Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and Oxfam, citing non-compliance with new registration and information-sharing rules.
The move comes shortly after US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed on a two-month deadline for Hamas to disarm.
Israeli authorities claim some organisations failed to fully disclose staff roles, funding sources, and operational details. MSF has strongly denied allegations linking its staff to Hamas.
MSF, one of the largest medical providers in Gaza, warned that the suspension would severely damage healthcare services in the territory.
The organisation supports approximately 20 per cent of hospital beds and oversees about one-third of births in Gaza, a region whose health sector has been heavily affected by ongoing conflict.
Oxfam and other affected organisations also risk disruption to essential aid programs, raising concerns over the impact on civilians who rely on humanitarian assistance.
Israeli officials have maintained that the move is part of efforts to enforce stricter oversight of aid groups operating in Gaza, citing the need for transparency and accountability.

However, humanitarian actors have cautioned that the decision could exacerbate the already critical health and humanitarian situation in the enclave.
Gaza’s cancer patients facing ‘death sentence’
Dr Mohammed Abu Nada, medical director of Gaza’s Ministry of Health Cancer Centre, says patients in the territory are confronting “a slow death sentence.”
“The critical shortage of cancer medications, the lack of diagnostic services, and the ongoing closure of crossings preventing travel abroad for treatment form a deadly triangle that endangers their lives at any moment,” he said in a statement on the ministry’s Telegram page.
“The only way to save these patients is to allow them to leave the Strip for treatment,” he added, urging “immediate action” to transfer more cancer patients abroad.

UNRWA says Palestinians in Gaza suffer from cold as Israeli curbs aid
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees reports that its supplies are ready to enter Gaza despite heavy rain and strong winds, but Israeli authorities have blocked access.
In its latest operational update, UNRWA stated that food parcels sufficient for 1.1 million people, flour for 2.1 million individuals, and shelter supplies for hundreds of thousands had been stored at the border.
Since the end of January, Israeli authorities have not issued visas or permits for the agency’s international staff to enter Gaza or the occupied Palestinian territory, and they continue to prevent UNRWA from delivering humanitarian aid into the Strip.
