The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness leader Prophet Owuor has found himself on the receiving end after reports that he healed a HIV-positive boy emerged online.
Kenyans on Thursday, October 27, woke up to the news that Prophet Owuor had completely cured a 13-year-old boy who had attended a Repentance & Holiness crusade in Matunda, Kakamega County.
Twitter went abuzz with photos of the boy who allegedly turned negative after being prayed for by Prophet Owuor.
“Thank you prophet of God, I was HIV positive. You prayed for me now am HIV negative” Read a T-shirt worn by the boy as he announced the ‘miracle’.
His healing was actually confirmed by a group of people claiming to be doctors who had conducted tests on the boy after the prayers.
Photos and videos of the boy and the doctors made rounds on social media, specifically Twitter where the hashtag #HIVDELETED trended for the better part of the day.

Kenyans had divided opinion following claims the prophet cured the boy of HIV with quite a number of people calling him out for being fake.
Most netizens wondered why Owuor remained mum when the country needed his healing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to them, he should have proved indeed his healings are true and not stage-managed as alleged by some quotas.
Some, however, defended the man of God and insisted the miracles are real and that Kenyans should believe him.
This is not the first time Owuor has allegedly cured a person of HIV.
Eight years ago, a 54-year-old university lecturer claimed she was miraculously healed of HIV after attending Prophet Owuor’s prayer crusades.
Dr Nancy Omronji, a mother of two and a lecturer at Egerton University said Owuor’s healing separated her from the shame of many years.
“I had HIV, but God took away my shame. I am not afraid or ashamed to say I was healed.” Omronji said.
Whether it is true, Dr Owuor heals, or his miracles are just stage-managed still remains a big mystery.
