Kenyan netizens on Wednesday, November 29 took to social media expressing their different views after Tanzanian gospel singer, Christina Shusho sent a fan Ksh 1000 after winning a challenge.
The challenge, posted by the gospel singer, involved fans posting a list of twenty of her songs under her official X account.
“Kuna elfu moja kwajili ya atakaye orodhesha nyimbo zangu 20 bila comment ya mtu ,” she tweeted.
This is loosely translated to ” I will award Ksh 1000 to one person who will successfully list twenty of my songs here.”
As expected, the post led to a barrage of comments with her fans on X trying to get an easy buck.
However, only one person was lucky enough to win the money.
“We have a winner though you put 21. DM your number,” Christina Shusho announced, much to the disappointment of many.
The went ahead to thank the singer after receiving the prize. “It’s true, hii si parody account,” the lucky winner, Asiri Micheal, commented on X.
This is loosely translated to,” It is true, this is not a parody account.”

Further, as proof of transaction, Christina Shusho posted the M-PESA message marking an end to the challenge.
Nonetheless, some chagrined Kenyans were bitter at the loss, choosing to pose questions instead of congratulating the winner.
One X user, Cantons Omondi posed,” Ulitumia criteria gani kuchagua mshindi?”
This is loosely translated to,” What criteria did you use to pick the winner?”
“Fast and First,” Christina Shusho quickly responded.
Notably, this is not the first time in recent past that the popular artist has handed fans money after winning a challenge.
Previously, in a bid to raise viewership of her songs, she challenged fans to take a guess at a screengrab from one of her music videos.
Similarly, the first and fastest fan to respond won a monetary prize.
Christina Shusho Responds to Pleas for Kenyan Concert
Notably, Christina Shusho has been trending on X for two days after Kenyans asked for a concert.
This was after a video surfaced revealing that the musician’s songs were directly sourced from the Bible leading to love and adoration from Kenyan fans.
After much pleading from netizens and fans, she agreed to hold a concert in Kenya, scheduling it to the 31st of December, this year.
“Due to increasing demands for a concert in Kenya my team and I are working with @MwalimChurchill to have a concert on the 31st of December 2023,” she noted while revealing a partnership with comedian and radio hoist, Churchill Ndambuki.

Further, Christina Shusho has recently been active on X, retweeting and making her own appreciation tweets to her Kenyan fans.
She has also been using the viral opportunity to market her latest hit, Twasize Byose.
However, the constant activity on her X handle raised eyebrows with claims that it was a parody account.
As such, in a quick rejoinder, Christina Shusho refuted the claims, noting that her X page was verified.
Furthermore, she headed to her Instagram account to notify fans on the same.
“Dear X this here is my account for those having doubts,” Christina Shusho affirmed.
