With over 26,000 followers on Instagram and 17,200 followers on TikTok, Steve Kariuki has taken the internet by storm with his “gifted hands.”
As a masseur, Steve has been receiving nonstop bookings since his name was mentioned on a popular breakfast show. His social media accounts show his love for his job and clients’ satisfaction.
From a Pilot to a Masseur: How Steve Started Out
Steve’s journey to becoming a masseur wasn’t always easy. He arrived in Nairobi from Nyeri, hoping to become a pilot, but he had to find a way to make ends meet. After taking a hairdressing course and holistic therapy, he became interested in massage therapy.
He started by massaging close friends who enjoyed his techniques and realized he was passionate about the job. Today, Steve is a successful masseur who provides massage therapy services at his residence or through house calls.

Keeping Things Professional: Steve’s Work Ethic
Steve has developed a reputation for keeping things professional, catering to his female clients only, as men can be “naughty” and ask for more than a massage. He admits that clients have asked for extras, but he remains true to his calling and never mixes business with pleasure. Although some clients prefer to undress during sessions, Steve clarifies it’s unnecessary.
Steve’s family is aware of his hustle, and although they were initially uncomfortable with it, they have come to understand that it’s just a job like any other. He admits that the nature of his work can make dating challenging, but he’s comfortable with his single life, especially since he can make up to Sh40,000 on a good weekend by travelling with a client.
