Kapsaret Member of Parliament (MP) Oscar Sudi has rewarded his first-born daughter with an apartment in Nairobi for being respectful and obedient to his guidance.
Sudi revealed he would be rewarding his daughter Faith Chemutai with the new house during her graduation ceremony held at their Kapsaret home on Thursday, January 4.
In a statement, Sudi said that the daughter had graduated with a master’s degree in finance management from the University of Kent, Canterbury.
Speaking at the ceremony, the MP revealed that he was a happy father due to the level of respect accorded by his daughter.
The MP recalled how he had advised Chemutai to focus on her studies and beware of boyfriends during her time in campus.
Advise on relationships
“We made an agreement. I promised her that I would pay the fees but one thing I needed from her was respect.
I advised her to go to school, study and beware of boyfriends,” he said as the crowd burst into laughter.
He went on to add, “I told her if she met those boyfriends, to make sure she cons them, not the other way round and she has done that which makes me very happy.”

Also, the outspoken MP further revealed that he was going to reward Chemutai for keeping her promise to lead the way as the first-born daughter.
“I told her if you do what I want as my first born, I will also do what you don’t expect.
I have your present and will give you the keys to a new apartment in Nairobi where you shall start your life,” he said.
An elated Chemutai could not believe the news, holding her face in excitement as the crowd cheered.
In addition, Sudi revealed to his daughter that following her academic achievements, she can go ahead and think about marriage.
“Because now you have a degree, a masters, already secured a job in London, you’ve respected me and you’re now a grown up, if you decided today and told me you’ve found a person, I’m ready,” said Sudi.
Sudi faces academic forging charges
Reacting to the news, social media users contrasted Chemutai’s academic success to her father’s academic profile which has been questioned in the past.
In November 2022, the then MP-elect faced ag court hurdle challenging his academic achievements and papers.
The Kapsaret MP was accused of presenting fake papers for his Diploma in Business Management from Kenya Institute of Management.
Additionally, he was accused of faking his secondary certificate from Highway Secondary School.

During one of the court proceedings, it was reported that all the schools the MP claimed to have attended were checked.
However, according to the reporting officer, no record of his enrollment was found, except for a primary school in Eldoret.
“The only records we found of him being a student was at Luok Ngetuny Primary School where the teachers confirmed that he enrolled in 1995 under the name Kipchumba Kipng’etich, but that he exited the school at Class Seven,” said the reporting officer.
Also, in 2023 Sudi responded to allegations of being a class seven school dropout after a lengthy court session examining his academic qualifications.
Sudi said he deserved to be celebrated for being a school dropout who had managed to come this far in his career.
