A pastor who went viral after cracking up guests that included President William Ruto at an event in Homa Bay county has broken his silence following his hilarious moment.
The clergyman cracked up guests while administering a prayer during the official opening of the Second Homa Bay County International Investment Conference on February 27, 2024.
In an unexpected turn of events, Pastor Raphael Obego found himself thrust into the national spotlight.
This was after his unconventional prayer antics left guests, including Ruto and Council of Governors Chair Anne Waiguru, chuckling at the event.
The pastor who previously operated under the radar within Homa bay, made waves with his linguistic flair.
His choice of words, a departure from the norm, had tongues wagging and dictionaries flipping as he delivered a prayer that resonated far beyond the event’s confines.
While speaking to the press on February 29, Pastor Obego broke his silence on the matter, expressing surprise at the uproar his prayer had caused.

“I was also surprised that my prayer became the talk of the town. The words I used are common, and most people can easily understand them when spoken,” he said.
Reflecting on the events that catapulted him into the limelight, the Pastor recounted his surprise at being approached to lead the prayer before the Head of State.
“I moved to the stage and prayed like I normally do. “I was not prepared for it, but because of constant prayer, I decided to go ahead, “he added.
Despite the impromptu nature of his delivery, the sincerity of Pastor Obego’s prayer struck a chord.
