President William Ruto has made new appointments to state corporations, and in the process revoking those made by his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a gazette notice published on Friday, February 3, the head of state named Dr. Jane Lagat the Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board for a period of three years. Lagat replaces Prof. Wanjiku Kabira whose appointment has been revoked.
He further reshuffled the State Corporations Advisory Committee, where he revoked the appointment of Amb. Dennis Awori and appointed 5 new members.
The five new appointees including Joseph Kimani Machiri, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, and Caroline Cherono Kilisha will also serve a 3-year term.
Moreover, the former Mandera Governor aspirant Aden Noor Ali was also appointed the new National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) board chairperson.
Noor replaces Agnes Odhiambo whose appointment has since been revoked.

In the changes, former Chief of Defence Forces Gen. (Rtd) Samson Mwathethe was appointed a Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI), replacing John Waithaka.
Likewise, president Ruto revoked Philip Charo’s appointment and replaced him with Mzee Mwinyi Mzee for the position of Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority.
