Robbers broke into Springbok’s Office South Africa where the Rugby World Cup Trophy was kept and took off with several valuables.
The business park that houses South Africa Rugby was into on Monday November 13.
According to a CCTV footage released and shared by South African journalist Yusuf Abramjee of the break-in on Monday, one of the thieves puts his gloved hand on the trophy, lifting it slightly, before moving to the cupboards beneath it.
The thieves then looked at the trophy, and further moved to the chase drawers as they opened all the drawers but seemed not to find something to pick.
Robbers Steal Valuables
South African authorities confirmed that the night robbery saw the robbers make off with five Springbok jersey and sixty-eight laptops.

However, the authorities have clarified that the Webb Ellis Cup which South Africa’s Rugby team won was safe.
Likewise, the Parow police confirmed they are investigating events that led to the breaking in further requesting for any assistance that could lead to the arrest of suspects.
“Parow police are investigating two separate incidents at two companies,” said FC van Wyk, Western Cape police spokesperson.
Van Wyk said the suspects forced open a window on the ground floor and entered the building.
On the other hand, Springboks have not yet commented on the robbery incident.
Springbok Win in October
South Africa won the world cup on 28th October 2023 after beating New Zealand in Paris and became the first nation to win the tournament for the fourth time in a row.
In the hotly contested match, Springboks were helped massively when All Blacks captain Sam Cane was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Jesse Kriel and made their extra man count to win by a single point on rugby’s biggest international stage.

Handre Pollard was the star of the show for the Springboks win in October, with the 29-year-old kicking every single point to keep New Zealand at bay.
Worth noting, South Africa had it all their own way in the first half, but things changed quickly after the break as the All Blacks refused to go down without a fight.
