Security has been beefed up at the Bomas of Kenya where the winner of the presidential election will be unveiled.
The number of officers has been heightened to ensure everything goes on smoothly in anticipation of the big announcement.
Moreover, people entering Bomas must undergo a thorough security check before being accessing the compound.
Likewise, only accredited individuals are allowed to enter the main national tallying center of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
Similarly, anxiety has engrossed the nation ahead of the release of the results.
The two leading presidential hopefuls Raila Odinga of Azimio La Umoja and William Ruto of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) are neck and neck in terms of votes.
Nevertheless, the focus has shifted to the IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati, who is also the Presidential Returning Officer who is the only one mandated to declare the winner in a presidential election.
Also, according to the constitution, the electoral commission has until Tuesday, August 16, to declare the winner of the presidential bid.
Furthermore, unveiling of the presidential winner will take place at the Bomas of Kenya today, Monday August 15.
As of Monday 4.45 am, IEBC had verified and relayed results from 248 constituencies out of the 291.

Likewise, The IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati is on record saying, “I will only declare the results in broad daylight and not at night.”
Consequently, the long wait for the results is Kenya’s first in her history of elections, after the Supreme Court while handling a presidential petition in 2017 in the affirmed that the validation exercise is mandatory before making the final declaration.
