The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has unveiled a TikTok competition, dubbed, CMA Fintok challenge to celebrate the World Investor Week running from October 2.
Content creators will be required to post a video of themselves, and the winner will walk away with Ksh50, 000.
At the same time, the creators participating in the Fintok challenge will be required to develop a short video on TikTok of not more than 30 seconds.

Instructions for the Fintok Challenge
The video will cover any or a combination of key messages on the topics of investor resilience: sustainable finance, and investor protection.
Moreover, the TikTok challenge is meant to encourage investment in capital markets or create awareness on capital markets products and services.
Likewise, the Authority stated that the TikTok video must be published on the creator’s TikTok page between October 2 and 16.
Consequently, a link to the video should be shared with CMA through the following email address: iepa@cma.or.ke.
In addition, the organizers of the competition emphasized that they would disqualify content creators who will share their videos after the set deadline.
To facilitate tracking one’s entry into the contest, creators are asked to tag the Capital Markets Authority under the hashtag, #CMAKenyaFinTok.
Notably, content creators were warned against the Fintok challenge videos containing any other advertising and commercial content and in no way will constitute copyright violation.
The Authority will pre-define a panel of judges who will screen the entries received during the competition and select the top five participants and the winning video.
Consequently, the winners of the challenge will be notified through social media. The first prize winner will receive Ksh50,000, the first and second runners up will receive Ksh30,000 and Ksh10,000 respectively.
