Police on Tuesday, January 17, arrested a foreigner at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in connection to the Roysambu murder.
The man, whose identity was not revealed, was arrested on suspicion that he was trying to flee Kenya.
Detectives attached at the Kasarani Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office took custody of the suspect for interrogation as they continued their labour to unearth the circumstances under which the 20-year-old girl was killed.
The man, according to reports, had a Mozambican passport to further raise suspicion about his profile.
His arrest brought to three the number of suspects arrested by detectives in efforts to unravel the finer details in the murder case that has attracted nationwide attention.
Meanwhile, questions surrounding the Roysambu murder case have continued to linger among members of the public.

As of Tuesday evening, the DCI was yet to confirm whether the man arrested at the JKIA was the same man caught in CCTV camera around the murder scene while receiving keys from a shopkeeper.
In addition, the whereabouts of the deceased’s head was yet to be established, raising questions about the motive behind the heinous act amid speculations from members of the public.
It was also not clear whether the culprit behind the act was acting alone or with the assistance of a team as investigations continue to leverage the available clues.
The victim’s personal belongings including her mobile phone were also missing raising further about the perpetrator’s plan.
Meanwhile, the detectives probing her case had managed to establish that the murder suspect had been residing in the Ruaka area after successful triangulation of the phone number used to book the accommodation room.
In addition, a family has since claimed ownership of the body with reports indicating that the deceased, a 20-year-old girl, was a student at a local university.

On Monday, January 15, detectives reached a breakthrough moment in the case after they obtained a CCTV footage from a shop close to the accommodation room where the heinous murder took place.
Subsequently, the detectives based in Kasarani were able to identify a suspect with light skin tone who was at the time seen picking the keys to the Airbnb in question.
Dressed in a black jacket and a white cape, the man whose identity was yet to be disclosed became the focus of the investigations as detectives labored to piece together different clues emerging in the case.

Concerns about increasing deaths
Meanwhile, different groups have continued to pile pressure on the government to address the now rising number of crimes targeting women and girls by perpetrators posing under the guise of lovers.
On Wednesday, January 17, former Prime Minister and opposition Leader Raila Odinga voiced his concerns over the Roysambu murder noting that it was” sad to see a troubling increase in the deaths of young women”.
“The abnormality of these murders cannot become the new normal,” Odinga said in a statement Wednesday morning.
“Murder is and will always be wrong, and there is no excuse. The ugly scourge of murder of women is now a national emergency. It is a threat to homeland security. It must come to an end.”
