A widow in Tartar village, West Pokot County is seeking justice following the tragic demise of her 20-year-old son, Aroon Kisang Reng’etiang.
According to Paulina Reng’etiang, her son was allegedly assaulted by his lover’s brother who is currently on the run.
Kisang died on February 28, 2024, while undergoing treatment at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital.
The circumstances leading to his death are believed to have stemmed from a meeting with his 17-year-old lover, on February 24 at around 8:00 pm.

Widow Narrates the Incidence
Humorously, it is said that Ruth’s mother, accompanied by her brother, saw the two together before the incident.
It is alleged that after some time, Ruth’s brother who was quite pissed off after Kisang questioned him if it was a crime talking to Ruth, returned later, scaled the wall, and launched a vicious attack on the victim.
Kisang died while undergoing treatment at Kapenguria County Referral Hospital where he was admitted.
Medical assessments further revealed that the deceased sustained a fracture of the skull and had bleeding in the brain after he was hit by a blunt object.
Paulina, the grieving widow was left devastated by the loss of her son, who she described as the primary breadwinner for their family.
“We depended on Kisang as a family, and he did everything for us. He had completed his schooling. I am devastated that my son’s life was cut short in such a brutal manner as a dog” she lamented.

Police Probing the Death of Kisang
The incident left locals in shock, prompting calls for investigations to uncover the mysterious circumstances surrounding Aroon’s death.
West Pokot Sub County Police Commander Kirui Kipkemoi confirmed that investigations into the tragic death of Kisang were still ongoing.
“At present, the police have detained the girlfriend as she voluntarily came forward and admitted her involvement in Kisang’s death. However, her brother, believed to be the perpetrator, is currently evading authorities,” stated the Police Commander.
He added, “In the course of our investigations, once we establish that it was indeed Ruth’s brother who inflicted harm upon Kisang, we will intensify efforts to locate and apprehend him.”
“Subsequently, he will be brought before the court to face the appropriate legal proceedings,” he said.
