Moreover, this put an end to their annual release of FIFA branded football gaming titles, after 30 years of partnership.
But what led to this significant rift? The breakup is believed to have been a result of some issues concerning the license between EA Sports and the football governing body.
Furthermore, EA Sports was overly concerned with the price put up by the football governing body within the deal.
In addition, some restrictions within the license limited EA’s ‘plans of advancements in highly improved and more user-friendly gamer experiences.
EA Sports FIFA Dominance
For over three decades, EA Sports has been at the forefront of the sports gaming industry, enthralling millions of players worldwide with their innovative releases, FIFA93 being their first-ever release.
From NBA to Formula 1 and FIFA, their offerings have captivated gaming enthusiasts and set the standard for realism and excitement.
The fallout, however, is surely a gamble for EA, whose success centrally reflects the widely known label.
Moreover, FIFA’s licensing deal provided interactive football experiences throughout the sensational series.
The Triangular Inspiration
Unravel the mysteries behind the new logo of EA Sports FC, a design that draws inspiration from the powerful and iconic triangle shape in football culture.
The newly released logo takes inspiration directly from the triangle – one of the most dominant shapes within football culture.
Notably, the triangle shape has had a huge significance within football gaming experience, with the shape having been used as an iconic player-indicator symbol for a long time.
The shape has been appearing above every athlete in all the EA Sports FIFA game series.
FIFA plans to create own game
The switch from FIFA to EA Sports FC presents a monumental task of customer retention. As gamers adapt to the rebranding, the division acknowledges the hugely positive impact of FIFA throughout the years.
However, it asserts that it is the right time to consider the future amid speculations that FIFA itself plans to make its own football game series in partnership with third-party studios, which will automatically bear the FIFA title.
This would be a huge blow for EA Sports in the football gaming industry, which has also seen some dominance by other top rivals such as KONAMI, popularly known for producing the PES series.
EA Sports maintains that building their own brand is the best thing.
The move, EA Sports believes, is the right one and will, in turn, aid their plans for ‘building a brand for the future’, offering an advanced range of extra gamer experiences beyond only just gaming.

It will also continue offering real-world experiences, having signed up an approximate 18,000 athletes, one hundred stadiums, thirty leagues, and over a hundred stadiums.
It would be a tough test, though, for EA Sports if FIFA, in partnership with other game publishers, developed a new FIFA simulation game.
As FIFA President Gianni Infantino asserts, “The game would be the best, as it would retain the federation’s name that is constant and will remain forever.”
