Faith Naliaka Karanja, the wife of Gospel singer Denno, recently shared intimate details about her marriage with the ‘Story Yangu‘ hitmaker in a candid conversation with Lynn Ngugi.
Their discussion on March 14, delved into the highs and lows of her relationship with Denno offering a glimpse into the emotional journey they have embarked on together.
Faith expressed deep gratitude for the companionship and love she shares with the musician, highlighting the importance of having a supportive partner to navigate life’s challenges.
She described her husband as a loveable person and as a cherished gift that God brought to her life.
During the interview, Faith spoke about the emotional fulfillment that comes from sharing love and facing life’s trials as a united couple.
Advice to Young Couples
Additionally, she expressed her desire to speak to young couples urging them to go for couple counselling sessions prior, so as to be knowledgeable of the issues and expectations surrounding marriage.
“It’s important for people to go for those classes so that they can be taught so that they won’t have high unrealistic expectations or find themselves lost in the course of marriage.” said Faith.

She emphasized the significance of mutual support and togetherness in their marriage, underscoring the need for couples to find strength in each other throughout the journey that is marriage.
“The good side of my marriage is that you get a companion. You are no longer alone. And you share love, and you tackle things together. Kuna ile true love and the trust that you have built in each other. Kuna the joy of marriage and the babies that you get,” she said.
Faith Speaks on Parenthood
When asked about her approach to motherhood Faith expressed that she cherishes the blessings of parenthood, but also stressed that having children should not be a mandatory aspect of marriage.
She acknowledged the societal pressure surrounding parenthood and emphasized that marriage is primarily about companionship and building a strong foundation of love and trust between partners.
“However, we were taught that babies are not a must. When you are married, you are not supposed to fix your mind that you must have babies. I have addressed this because it’s one of the reasons why marriages are breaking.
“Mnaoana hampati watoto then you start blaming each other and then mwishowe mnaachana, marriage is just for companionship. I have enjoyed my marriage,” she said.
Challenges Experienced in her Own Marriage with Denno
Despite being married for several years, Faith revealed that Denno has never seen what she looks like due to his visual impairment.
However, despite this she expressed deep contentment with their relationship, stating that she wouldn’t change anything about their marriage.
This heartfelt disclosure sheds light on the profound love and connection that exists between them, transcending even physical limitations.
Despite the joys of marriage, Faith also touched upon the financial struggles they encountered early in their marriage.
“The worst part I would simply say is, ile mnafika mahali mnaazna na vibe mzuri, everything is in order but inafka mahali mnaanza kupanda mlima pamoja. You don’t have the required finances to carry on, but somehow God makes a way, and you just find you’re moving together,” she said.
Initially dependent on Denno for financial support, Faith’s determination led her to pursue a career in catering to contribute to their household income.
“There were times my husband didn’t have shows and it was during this period that I felt so guilty for not helping so I went and did a catering course so that we help each other deal with finances…a woman should be a helper.”
“The moment I started working I felt things became easier and we were able to shoulder the burdens together, I got fulfillment from being a helper.”

Faith & Denno Tie the Knot
Denno and Faith Naliaka Karanja tied the knot in August 2016 and are blessed with two children.
Faith’s mother played a significant role in their union, as she was the first-person Faith introduced Denno to.
Despite facing discouragement from some relatives who raised concerns about their children potentially inheriting Denno’s condition, Faith prioritized her mother’s opinion and found solace in her blessing of their marriage.
Faith’s story is a testament to love, trust, and resilience in the face of adversity.
It serves as an inspiration for couples facing similar obstacles, showing that with love and determination, any challenge can be overcome when faced together as a team.
