In Kenya, like in many parts of the world, individuals particularly women have found themselves grappling with the consequences of sharing their lives and creating content alongside their partners.
They later face the harsh reality of losing access to their digital platforms in the aftermath of a romantic split.
This loss extends beyond mere followers and likes; it encompasses a significant portion of one’s identity and voice in the virtual sphere.
While specific names may vary, the stories of these Kenyan women shed light on the complexities of modern relationships and the profound impact of social media dynamics on personal empowerment.
Below are some Kenyan celebrities who lost their accounts after breakup with their lovers.
Mungai Eve Loses Her Social Media Accounts
Content creator Mungai Eve lost her social media accounts after breakup with her lover Director Trevor.
Trevor assumed control of her social channels, including the YouTube account that had over 2300 videos uploaded and more than 700,000 subscribers since it was founded on January 2, 2020.
During a question-and-answer session with fans, Mungai Eve’s boyfriend announced that he was no longer going to work with her.
He further added that he was going to rebrand the accounts from Mungai Eve Media to Kenya Online Media.
“No. Her services are No longer needed in the following platforms, YouTube 754K subscribers, Insta Fame 104K subscribers, and Facebook 874K followers.” Trevor revealed.

However, a week later, Mungai Eve created her own YouTube channel, which has already hit 100K followers.
Keranta
Winnie Keranta and her ex-boyfriend Amore had attracted a huge social media following due to their relationship that lasted for more than two years.
However, their partnership took an unexpected turn when Amore accused Keranta of cheating, a claim that she strongly refuted.
The two had launched their own YouTube channel, “The Amore Family,” which garnered a large following for its content centered around pranks and surprises.
Keranta later shared that her ex-lover had locked her out of their joint YouTube channel and even blocked her from viewing his Instagram posts.
She then created her YouTube channel, ” Sprinkles of Keranta” that has already hit over 150K subscribers.
Carol Sonie
In 2022, comedian Mulamwah’s baby mamaa, Carol Muthoni alias Carol Sonie grabbed the attention of her fans after announcing news of her new social media profiles.
Carol clarified that she felt compelled to leave behind her Instagram and Facebook accounts, which had amassed over 82,000 followers, following a disagreement with her baby daddy over the page.
The disagreement prompted her to start a new Instagram account that currently has over 157k followers and Facebook with 104 followers.
In a YouTube interview, Carol revealed that the two amicably went separate ways.
“This is to make it clear that Mulamwah and I are no longer together. We have both agreed to part ways for reasons best known to us. Thank you so much for the love and support you gave us for those four years, I personally do not take it for granted,” she said then.

Natalie Tewa
In 2019, Youtuber Natalie Wanjiru Githinji famously known as Natalie Tewa and her Ugandan boyfriend Rnaze parted ways with Rnaze making the breakup public via an Instagram announcement.
Natalie, initially known for her YouTube channel centered around her fitness journey since 2015 gained significant traction after shifting her content to document her natural hair journey.
The couple had openly shared their relationship journey with their audience. However, Rnaze removed Natalie’s content from both YouTube and Instagram platforms after they broke up.
After the nasty breakup, Natalie took 11 months break from social media before coming back to content creation.
She does travel, fashion and fitness vlogs and has gained more than 370k followers on Instagram and over 100k subsribers on YouTube.
