Comedian Vincent Mwasia Mutua famously known as Chipukeezy has explained why his show dubbed The Chipukeezy Show, stopped airing on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
In a Sunday April 14 statement, through Ufalme Entertainment, the production company behind television show, Chipukeezy noted that it has been grappling with significant delays in receiving payments from KBC since November 2023.
This he notes is despite their concerted efforts to maintain their commitments to all stakeholders involved in the production.
Michael Muthama, the Director of Ufalme Entertainment, expressed the company’s regret over the ongoing delays and the impact they have had on various stakeholders.
“We hope this message finds you well, it is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of the ongoing delay in payments from our media partner, KBC,” read the statement in part.
Ufalme entertainment further assured that they are actively engaging with KBC to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.
“As a production company dedicated to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity, we understand the impact that these delays can have on our valued partners, suppliers, and artists. We want to assure you that we are actively engaging with KBC to resolve this matter swiftly and fairly,” he said.

Comeback Date for Chipukeezy Show Unknown
The announcement comes even as fans eagerly await the return of The Chipukeezy Show to KBC’s programming lineup.
With production hampered by the payment delays, viewers have been left without the program for an extended period. However, Ufalme Entertainment said they remain committed to delivering quality content that inspires and empowers audiences.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible fans for your unwavering support!”
“Your favorite program is set to resume soon on KBC, once we resolve the pending issues, promising more inspiration and empowerment,” Muthama affirmed.
Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) become the new host for The Chipukeezy Show, marking its return after a three-year hiatus.
The show began its run-on September 11, 2023, with episodes airing every Monday from 8 pm to 9 pm.
In addition, the agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony attended by KBC’s acting Managing Director, Samuel Maina.

Chipukeezy pointed out the show’s objective of marketing, growing, and monetizing young talents in Kenya.
He stated that the initial episodes would be recorded in various areas of Nairobi, with plans to extend production nationwide in the future.
Notably during the signing ceremony, KBC’s acting MD urged young people to seize opportunities for empowerment whenever they arise.
“The collaboration between KBC and The Chipukeezy Show aims to provide a platform for aspiring talents to showcase their skills and pursue their passions,” said Mr. Maina.
