Legendary Congolese musician Franco is without a doubt one of the most loved artists of his time in the world.
Franco made a name for himself with massive Rhumba tunes which have enjoyed long shelve life.
Of course, the musician did not become a star on his own as his band also played a major role in catapulting his career to greater heights.
While Franco always treated his band members well, there are instances he had to bring out a side of him that not many people were familiar with.
A story is told of how Franco at one point called police on one of his band members who had actually stolen a portion of his meat.
The Kenya Times understands Franco and his band were entertaining revelers at a venue in Congo many years ago but the night did not end well as one of his band members had to cool his heels in a police cell.
According to reports from the Central Africa country, Franco sent the two band members to buy him and the rest 10 kilograms of meat.
Obeying their boss, the two stepped out to get the meat and got it.
However, on their way back, one who had left his wife hungry at home thought it wise to cut at least half a kilogram from the 10 kilos and sent it home to his wife.
Things took an unfortunate turn upon returning to the entertainment venue where Franco and others were waiting for them.

Franco inspected the meat and noticed it was less than the 10 kilos he had ordered.
Since he was a wise man, he asked the two band members why the meat seemed little.
The suspected band member insisted it was the 10 kilos even after Franco asked severally.
The musician had decided to let the issue go but the guy who had accompanied the suspect to buy the meat snitched on him by informing Franco how he sent some meat back home to his wife.
This did not settle down well with Franco who immediately called police on his band member accusing him of theft.
Well, cops arrived and picked the band member who ended up in a police cell.
The development somehow tainted Franco’s image and made him the enemy of many people including the band member he had arrested for stealing his meat.
Franco, however, tried to polish his image by insisting he did not call police on his band member because he hates him, but because he needed him to learn a valuable lesson.
According to Franco, all he wanted was to teach the young band member the importance of honesty and getting things through the right means.
After spending hours in a police cell, the band member was released upon Franco’s request.
It is not yet clear if the band member kept working with Franco after the ordeal or not but many Rhumba lovers had mixed opinions over the same.
Some condemned Franco for being inhuman while many insisted he did the right thing by teaching his band member a valuable life lesson.
