Ferdinand Waititu’s case in which he is accused of irregularly awarding a road tender worth Ksh.588 million has been adjourned.
Moreover, Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP) on Monday, September 19 reported that Waititu’s team had filed an adjournment request, which was granted by the Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate.
Waititu who was impeached as Kiambu Governor in January 2020, is alongside 12 others charged with the irregular award of a Ksh.588 million road tender.
“The prosecution led by Faith Mwila and Linda Mwamburi was ready with two witnesses. The prosecution has produced 27 witnesses in the case,” the ODPP stated.
Nevertheless, the hearing has now been scheduled for October 14.
Furthermore, the High Court had previously frozen Waititu’s prime properties and 7 motor vehicles pending the hearing and determination of a case filed by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).

Waititu is also accused of misappropriating public funds.
He allegedly issued fraudulent procurement tenders to firms outsourced to offer services to the County Government of Kiambu.
According to EACC, once the payments for the fallacious contracts were made by Kiambu County, the contracted firms would forward the proceeds to a number of bank accounts and businesses registered under Waititu’s name and that of his wife.
