Lisa Fuchs, PhD, is the leader of the asset-based community-driven development (ABCD) team, and the scientific coordinator of the Transformative Partnership Platform on Agroecology (Agroecology TPP). Since joining ICRAF in 2013, Lisa has been leading the design, implementation and testing of sustainable and community-driven engagement processes to support diversified livelihoods, climate change resilience, and adaptation.
Her educational background is in Empirical Political and Social Sciences (BA, MA), International Relations, Risk Management and Development in Southern Countries (MA), and Social and Cultural Anthropology (PhD). She holds various community development certificates including in ABCD, Community-based Microfinance, Livelihoods and Markets, as well as Feminist Leadership for Justice, Equity and Ecology.
Lisa’s core scientific interests lie in political ecology, sustainability, and environmental and food justice. Her current research in development work focuses mostly on designing, implementing and testing processes to (1) enhance equity, agency, and that support empowerment among the communities CIFOR-ICRAF works with, (2) foster meaningful and strategic partnerships between different stakeholders for development efficiency and sustainable impact, (3) foster diversified pathways of knowledge co-creation to support sustainable behaviour change.
