The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has announced new directives to motorists and clients in a bid to implement the government orders to migrate all state services to the E-Citizen Platform.
These directives were announced through a press statement by National Transport and Safety Authority shared on their official X account.
“In implementation of the directive on migration of all Government services to the E-Citizen Platform, NTSA is diligently progressing to onboard all its services to the platform.
This move aims to centralize access to services through a unified portal, thereby enhancing service delivery to motor vehicle owners and other stakeholders,” the presser stated.
Further, the roads and safety authority noted that these demands apply to all different categories including motor vehicle owners, financial institutions, insurance companies, motor/motorcycle dealers, corporate/companies, among others.
“To facilitate a smooth transition, the Authority requires all NTSA clients including motor vehicle owners, financial institutions, insurance companies, motor/motorcycle dealers, corporate/companies, Embassies, Missions, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAS) among other entities to validate their E-Citizen accounts,” the statement noted.

Likewise, NTSA clarified that the exercise was critical to ensure access to all the authority’s services within the platform.
Additionally, the roads and safety authority noted that as part of stakeholder engagement, it plans to undertake virtual trainings and demonstrations.
These trainings are envisioned to assist various stakeholders familiarize with the service flows on the platform.
“The registration process is free and facilitated through www.ntsa.go.ke,” NTSA stated.
NTSA Shutting Down TIMS Portal
Further, NTSA announced that it would shut down TIMS portal from Friday, 29th December 2023 mid-night to Monday, 1st January 2024 midnight.
This is to limit transactions on all of the authority’s services.
“During this period, all NTSA online service access will be integrated with E-Citizen platform single sign on in preparation for the Go-Live on Tuesday, 2nd January 2024,” the overseeing authority clarified.
Notably, during this period, all clients with pending transactions on the TIMS platform will be required to complete their applications by Friday 15th December 2023 to avoid any inconveniences.

However, after this process, from Tuesday, 2nd January 2024, only E-Citizen Login credentials shall be used to access all of its services.
These E-citizen credentials are the username and password.
