Tigania East Member of Parliament Mpuri Aburi has said that the video evidence played by Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza defense team at the Senate was edited.
Aburi said he has faith in women and cannot make such utterances that demean their position in the society.
“The language that was used in Senate was a form of defamation because the video that was shown in the Senate was edited.
I have all the things I said in my video here, I cannot speak ill against women because I have my wife and I know the utterances that can demean them,” he said.
Further, the MP accused Mwangaza of misleading the Senate and demanded an apology from the governor.
“Let her bring her video so that I also bring my original video, the one they presented at Senate was from Baite TV and it was edited to show that I was talking ill about women,” he said.
Besides, the MP plans to record a statement with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for investigations into the video.
“I want an apology from Governor Mwangaza for lying to Kenyans and I am ready to file a statement to prove to Kenyans that she lied,” he demanded.

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza made her first public address after surviving her second impeachment motion at the Senate.
Speaking in Meru County for the first time after defending her seat, Mwangaza sort forgiveness from local leaders opposed to her leadership.
“May God bless you for praying for me, I also thank the Senate promoting justice. If there is anybody I have wronged, please forgive me. I have also forgiven all those who have wronged me,” she said.
Further, the governor called for peace and unity among the leaders of Meru community for the development of the County.
“I advocate for peace as a woman, let us all unite and develop Meru County because that is the only work God gave us. We took over the office to help you, leadership is about others and not an individual,” added Mwangaza.

Senate Decision
Senators on Wednesday, November 8, dismissed charges leveled against Governor Mwangaza by Meru MCAs
Senate Speaker Amason Kingi while announcing the outcome noted that the house dismissed all the seven charges that Mwangaza was facing.
After two days of hearing, Senators from both sides of the political divide sat to debate and vote over the proposed impeachment.
The Senate commenced prosecuting Governor Mwangaza’s proposed impeachment on Tuesday, November 7.
When asked to plead before the Senate plenary, Mwangaza pleaded not guilty to the allegations by the MCAs.
Prior to the voting exercise, both sides had made submissions and presented witnesses before the house.
