TV presenter, Hellen Muthoni has resigned after a 7-year stint in Inooro television hosting a Kikuyu gospel morning show, Rurumuka.
Rurumuka is a Kikuyu gospel show that runs every Sunday morning from 9:00 am to 12:59 pm on the Royal Media television station, Inooro TV.
Notably, Hellen Muthoni joined Inooro TV in 2016, serving for seven years as the gospel show’s [presenter before she hung her boots.
Muthoni announced her resignation on air as well as on her Instagram account.
“Unto the last segment on air!” Hellen Muthoni posted on her Instagram account on Sunday morning, eliciting heartfelt reactions from fans.
Fans and Colleagues React to the News
Despite the news coming as a shock to fans, loyal followers of the show rushed to her social media accounts to react to the news, wishing her well in her future endeavors.
Instagram user, Nish Gitau stated, “Seeing you giving credits to Royal media hosts for the last time today moved me to tears. It was an emotional moment. You’ve been an inspiration to me, and I wish you God’s blessings and grace in all your endeavors.”
Gospel presenter and former Royal Media colleague, Daniel Githongo alias DJ Gee Gee also reacted to the announcement saying, “Wishing you nothing but the best on the next chapter of this season.”

During the show, her co-host Daniel Kihoro otherwise known as Dj Covenant, described Muthoni as a wonderful host and friend who helped boost the show’s profile since the beginning of her stint.
In an emotional moment, Muthoni’s colleagues handed her gifts and praised her for working diligently during her stay at the station.
However, Hellen Muthoni did not reveal her plans after leaving the station.
Other Journalists who have Quit Royal Media
Nonetheless, Muthoni’s resignation is not the first, especially for the Royal Media family.
One of the most notable resignations happened in June 2023 when Citizen TV’s 10 over 10 host and presenter Willis Raburu quit his job after 13 years.
Other than hosting the Friday evening show, he also doubled as a radio and tv presenter and host of Citizen morning TV show.

Furthermore, in March 2023, political editor and news presenter Francis Gachuri left Royal Media Services in search of greener pastures at the Ministry of Interior.
He was appointed as the Head of Communications in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
