The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party now wants its rebel Members of Parliament who went against the party position and voted in favor of the finance bill 2023 to resign and seek fresh mandate from the electorates.
ODM national chairman, John Mbadi while speaking at a public rally Kodiaga in Gem constituency stated that failure of the MPs to heed the call will force the party to take disciplinary action against them.
That will see the party withdraw its sponsorship and kick them from the party.
Mbadi noted that his office has received several complaints from members against the lawmakers who betrayed the ODM cause.
Likewise, Kitui senator Enock Wambua who also addressed the rally, said it was an act of betrayal for an MP to shift allegiance from the sponsoring party and continue clinging on the seat.
He added that the noble thing for the rebel legislators to do was to resign and seek fresh mandate.

Siaya governor, James Orengo opined that Nyanza, a region known for its steadfastness on matters politics, was slowly turning into the home of political sellouts.
He further described those who voted in support of the finance bill as traitors who did not have the interest of the ordinary citizen.
