The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued a seven-day weather forecast for the period between June 11 to June 17,2024. In its latest outlook, Kenya Met listed areas that are likely to receive dry, cold and wet conditions.
According to LMD, rainfall is expected over a few areas in the highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin.
In a statement on June 10, the weatherman said the rest of the country is likely to be generally dry with intermittent cold cloudy conditions being expected in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands and the rift Valley.
‘Rainfall is expected over a few areas in the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley,’’ read part of the statement by Met.
The highlands East of the Rift Valley will experience cloudy mornings with light rains over few places, giving way to sunny intervals.

Likewise occasional afternoon showers are expected with cloudy nights.

These counties include Nairobi, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi Counties.
Moreover, the highlands West of the Rift Valley, Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley are set to experience sunny intervals in the morning with few areas experiencing light rains
Also, afternoon and night showers with thunderstorms are expected spreading to several places.
These counties include Kisii, Nyamira, Nandi, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Kisumu, Homabay, Busia, Migori, Narok, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet and West-Pokot.
Consequently, the North-Western (Turkana and Samburu counties) region is set to experience sunny intervals during the day while nights are expected during the day while nights are expected to be partly cloudy.
The North-eastern region is set to experience sunny intervals during the day while nights are likely to be partly cloudy.
These counties include Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo.

The South-eastern lowlands (Machakos, Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado and Taita-Taveta Counties) will experience cloudy mornings giving way to sunny intervals with partially cloudy nights.
Likewise, the Coastal region is set to experience sunny intervals with occasional morning and afternoon showers during the day with partially cloudy nights.
Such Counties include Mombasa, Tana-River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties
