Four Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates at Kisumu Day Secondary School were arrested on13 after they were found smoking bhang.
The police and the ministry of education, however, allowed the four students to complete the ongoing examinations before being arraigned.
According to reports, the mischievous students were allegedly busted in the evening and later handed over to the police.
However, the students were afterwards released on police cash bail to allow them to sit the remaining KCSE papers.
Kisumu Central sub-county Police Commander, Peter Mulai said the decision to release them on cash bail was arrived at after a meeting between the police, their parents, and the school administration.

Additionally, Mulai noted that the four will appear in court upon completing the ongoing examinations to face charges of being in possession of bhang.
Similarly, the police commander noted that the students are expected to face separate charges.

Further, the police commander noted that the charges will include, forcefully breaking into a room where they were found smoking bhang after using a master key to gain access.
Worth noting according to the police boss, three of the boys are aged eighteen while the other is seventeen.
The ongoing national test will end on November 24.
Likewise, the KNEC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. David Njengere however revealed that so far forty-six cases of malpractice have been reported.
KNEC cautioned candidates to be cautious of fake exam papers being circulated on various social media platforms.
Dr. Njengere confirmed on Monday November 13 that the examination papers being circulated on social media platforms are not genuine.

“What they do is collude with someone, look for an image of the paper being done then try to share it on social media. I can assure you with absolute confidence there is no single genuine paper that can circulate on social media platforms,” said Njengere.
He said the new guidelines which were put in place are working well, saying this year KNEC is determined to deliver credible results.
Meanwhile the CEO said various measures have been employed to ensure schools in areas affected by ongoing heavy rains get their examination papers on time.
