A flurry of reports about Google Gmail caused panic among users of the world’s most popular email service on Thursday, February 2022.
Reports began circulating on various platforms, alleging that Google was set to shut down Gmail, leaving its 1.8 billion users in a state of distress.
According to the reports, the service was to be shut down as of August 1, 2024, marking the end of its service.

However, The Kenya Times conducted an essential fact check to establish the truth about the reports that were spreading fast and furious.
